Action Camp
The Action Camp is a place where people of all ages can Act for Peace by learning how to lobby effectively, create art and signs, learn about nonviolent civil disobedience, and experience youth spoken word and theatre.
Action Camp Activities (12-5 pm):
Create Art for Peace
Children and adults can create their own individualized peace buttons and make colorful peace flags to carry on the march and decorate homes and offices. Children's face painting for peace throughout the afternoon.
Tell Congress What You Think
Learn about current bills in Congress to end the war and bring the troops home. Write a personal letter to your Senators and Congressional Representatives. Staff from Representative Earl Blumenauer's office will be on hand to give tips on lobbying. Sign up to be part of group lobbying visits the following week where the letters will be hand-delivered.
Stand Up! Sit-In! Act Out!
Learn more about how to dramatically influence public policy in the tradition of Gandhi and Dr. King. Participate in nonviolence role plays. Listen as others share their personal experience with civil disobedience. Throughout the afternoon, hear presenters on nonviolent communication and ongoing Portland actions you can join. Legal experts will also be available. There will be opportunities to sign up for future trainings and actions. See the Direct Action Tent page for a complete schedule of workshops and speakers.
Youth Stage
An all-day stage organized by youth organizations from around the city. Youth-centered music, art, spoken word, live blogging, and interactive guerilla/street theater. All youth are welcome! More info on the Youth Stage page.

Music!
As bookends to the rally & march, the main stage will feature musical acts Hungry Mob, Kate Power & Steve Einhorn, Ross Beach and the Hellpets, Camp Casey Songwriter Jesse Dyen and more from 12-5.
