PDX Youth M.O.V.E (mobilize, organize, vocalize, empower)
Youth are without doubt affected by the war. Yet we are often not included in the discussion/organization around the issues of war. Because of war, young people face military recruitment, inadequate educational funding, and torn families.
Youth from different grassroots groups, high schools and middle schools, as well as adult artists and supporters have been working to create a space for youth on March 15. There will be a stage featuring youth performers, poets, speakers, and information on how youth can get directly involved in creating change. Youth from all over the city will have an opportunity to speak out in public on our issues, our lives, in our own words. As youth in Portland, we know we need to act now to end war, violence, and injustice that are happening here in Portland and around the world.
