Peaceforce Oregon is offering an all day course in NCI on August 16th, 2008 at the Multnomah Friends Meetinghouse, 4312 SE Stark St in Portland. To register for this event visit peaceforceoregon.org

Coffee, tea, snacks and a vegetarian/vegan lunch will be provided as
well as all course materials. Cost is on a sliding scale starting at
$35 but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

The Nonviolent Conflict Intervention Training lets you explore how
nonviolent methods can lessen or prevent conflict in your daily life,
in your community and around the world.

The one-day workshop is filled with hands-on exercises and role plays that will introduce you to:

  • Basic nonviolent communication and conflict resolution methods
  • How you can use these skills when you come across conflict in your daily life
  • How local and international peace teams use nonviolent strategies in larger conflicts

Your trainers are dedicated local volunteers who are supported by professional nonviolent conflict intervention trainers.

The curriculum was developed by Nonviolent Peaceforce North America.
