Our country needs a renewed and vigorous commitment to human rights, implementing UN resolutions treating rape as a war crime and supportingwomen as peace-builders. Never again the scourge of torture. Never again the secret prisons and renditions, the knock on the door in the dead of
night. Those responsible for the crimes must be brought to justice. And the Oregon Guard must stay in Oregon!

As our country and our world slide deeper into recession, half of the Oregon Guard have been ordered to Iraq in an immoral war that Oregonians oppose. The Oregon Guard's place is at home, providing service forcommunities threatened by natural disasters.

Buses will be going down from Portland!

Portland area peace and justice activists invite you to RSVP your round-trip bus extravaganza to the Sunday, March 15, Salem rally!
The cost of a round-trip bus ride will only be $10.00! Less if you can't afford 10 bucks, or more if you are feeling generous and want to kick in for someone suffering a deficit. A few absolutely free scholarships will be offered; let us know if you are requesting one and we'll put you on a list first come, first served.

We'll board the bus at 11 am on March 15th, location TBA.  Once in Salem, we will be joining with peace & justice enthusiasts from around the state. The event will include speakers and music, followed by a short march around the capitol mall to bring the attention of our lawmakers to the issues which concern us:

Please book your bus ride at:
fangsandclaws@q.com with "RSVP" on the subject line, no later than March 8th, please.

Tell us your name, email address, phone, how many seats you'll want and how much you are planning to pay.  We will email (or phone) back with the location to meet the bus and will collect for your fare as you board the bus.

Bring your civic-minded spirit and a sack lunch and join us for this fun and meaningful day!
