If you want to march together as a massive contingent from Portland, come meet up with us before the march steps off!
We will be meeting at the North end of Judkins Park, near the corner of 20th Pl S and S Dearborn St. We'll be near the 5 huge charter buses, and we'll have the gorgeous blue "Portland Says End the War" banner. Come march with us!!
Driving Directions to the Opening Youth Rally,
Judkins Park (20th Pl S & S Dearborn St)
From I-5 North:
Take exit 164A for Dearborn St/James St toward Madison St - 0.4 mi
Follow signs for Dearborn St - 0.1 mi
Turn right at S Dearborn St - 0.7 mi
S Dearborn St turns left and becomes 20th Pl S - 36 ft
Arrive at: Judkins Park
Parking in Seattle:
Parking Option 1:
Park in the residential area surrounding Judkins Park and at the end of the march catch a city bus back to your car. We suggest that you park north of Jackson on side streets near the park, as well as to the west. Also you can head east past 23rd Ave to look for parking on side streets. This is a residential area, so please be careful about blocking sidewalks and driveways.
Parking Option 2: Park in one of the many parking garages near Occidental Park in the morning and catch a city bus to Judkins Park to join the Youth Rally at 12 noon.
National Day of Mobilizations!
On October 27, people from all walks of life will gather at sites around the country for 11 regional demonstrations. Seattle will be the convergence point in the Northwest for those who are against this war and for a responsible US foreign and domestic policy.
People everywhere want the war to end, but Washington has failed to take decisive action. With each passing month, nearly 100 service-people and countless more Iraqis are killed, some 12 billion of our tax dollars are spent, and the death and destruction continue. Our communities – from New Orleans to Minneapolis – are neglected and suffer the consequences.
